OWNER & GENERAL CONTRACTOR

Clay brings over 32 years of experience in the construction and project management industry, having built a career that spans diverse and prestigious projects. His journey began on the West Coast, where he worked as a project manager, overseeing the construction of high-profile developments. Early in his career, he had the opportunity to collaborate closely with some of the nation’s most renowned designers, gaining invaluable insight into the intricate balance between aesthetics and functionality.

After several years on the West Coast, Clay returned to Minnesota to be closer to family and spent eight years managing a local interior design showroom. There, he sharpened his skills in client relations, design coordination, and creating functional, beautiful spaces.

Driven by his passion for design, Clay and his wife Cindy founded C&C Custom Interiors. For 13 years, Cindy played a vital role in the business, contributing to daily operations and helping shape its creative vision. Though she has since retired to pursue her own artistic interests, her influence continues to inspire Clay’s work.

Today, Clay is committed to delivering not just exceptional design, but a meaningful, collaborative experience for each client. His approach is grounded in attention to detail and a deep understanding of individual needs.

When he's not working on remodeling projects, Clay enjoys cheering on the Minnesota Gophers.

LEAD DESIGNER & PROJECT MANAGER

With over 30 years in the design industry, Denise brings a rich global perspective to her work. Born and raised overseas and attending university in Southern California, her diverse background influences her approach to design. After spending many years in commercial design, she joined C&C in 2013, where she discovered her true passion for residential design, blending functionality with personal style.

She places great value on truly listening to her clients’ vision, taking the time to understand how they live in their spaces and what matters most to them. With a focus on preserving architectural integrity, she invites her clients to embark on a journey that brings their visions to life.

As an NKBA-certified kitchen and bath designer, Denise is committed to ongoing education, always staying current with the latest industry developments and innovations.
